Mike Booth would not consider himself as such, but he is an American legend. He grew up in the days when cowboys were heroes, and came to understand that being a cowboy was typified best by an attitude and a way of life that brings out the best in all of us. Mike’s poems are deeply rooted in his faith in God, Country, and the Cowboy. He will tell you that his poems have been inspired by many things but that along the way, it was the real cowboys who taught him the ways of the cowboy. Tighten up your girth, sit deep in the saddle, and be introduced to the Cowboy Way of Life.
Ask anyone and they will tell you – Mike Booth is a Cowboy at heart. His newly released book, A Cowboy Remembers, is a reflection of his feelings for the Cowboy and the Old West. As a writer of poetry and lyrics for over 25 years, Mike beautifully captures the real-life stories of cowboys and the life they lead. His inspiration is driven by his deep love of the men and women who choose the path of the cowboy. Along the way, Mike gained first-hand experience by owning a ranch in Ocala, Florida. It was there that he kept as many as 60-plus horses at one time, and participated in rodeo events, including barrel racing, calf, and team roping, as well as showing western pleasure, reining, and cutting.
Mike enjoys a life filled with adventure and excitement, interacting with people from all walks of life. He is at home and at ease in front of an audience. His work includes being an auctioneer of livestock, fine arts, and antiques; a host on The Gem Shopping Network, and a Nashville recording artist, performing throughout the southern United States. Mike and his wife Kathy, live in Duluth, Georgia.

A Cowboy Remembers is a deeply personal book that reflects how I feel about the cowboy way of life. Over a lifetime of opportunities, I have been blessed by God with the ability to put my words into poetry and song. Just finished this book of Cowboy, Religious and Patriotic Poetry by Mike Booth and I am already a deep rooted fan of this man's writing. It balances the respect and reverence these topics deserve with a simple styling that is unpretentious but oh so very sincere. The book is styled in the same way - colorful and peacefull images so well suited to the verses within. What a wonderful way to relax just by reading through these poems thanking the Lord for the simple blessings (which are the most meaningful blessings) in our lives! Only be warned - once you finish it, you'll want more...
